In a hammer blow, Valentine Holmes is reportedly set to be sidelined for the remainder of the season after he suffered a shoulder injury in the Dragons’ clash with the Roosters.

Holmes is set to go under the knife on a shoulder injury which will see him sidelined for six months.
The Dragons confirmed the extend of Holmes’ injury in a statement.
“The Dragons can confirm that centre Valentine Holmes will miss the remainder of the 2025 season due to a shoulder injury,” the Dragons said.
“Scans confirmed the 29-year-old suffered a rotator cuff tear in his left shoulder against the Roosters in Round 19.
“He will require rotator cuff repair surgery that will sideline him for the rest of the season.”
Holmes will reportedly be sidelined for six months, needing surgery to repair the injury suffered during a tackle which saw Lindsay Collins land on the gun centre.

Flanagan explaining he could have played on but risked hampering his 2026 season.
“We could’ve rolled the dice (and tried to play Holmes this year) which was heavily favoured against us,” Flanagan said.
“He could have rehabbed and then in four to six weeks he gets another hit on it and it just stuffs up the start of our season up next year.
